The world's best selling school chair is now available in 97.5% post-consumer recycled plastic sourced from Australia.
Australia is facing significant callenges in managing its plastic waste.
On average, we produce 3.5 million tonnes of plastic waste annually, with households being the largest contributor accounting for 47% of it.
So Sebel took their best-selling school chair Postura Max® and remade it with post-consumer recycled plastic sourced from Australia.
Recycled Postura Max® gives schools the best of both worlds – legendary high performance with carbon neutral, environmentally friendly credentials. Schools are rightly seeking more sustainable options across the board and we’re proud to have designed and engineered a robust, respected, recycled solution.
Managing plastic waste is a very real problem. In Australia alone we produce 3.5 million tonnes of plastic waste every year, with only 8% of No 5 plastic waste being recycled. The reality is, we’re making very little use of the precious resources we extract, without feeding them back into the resource loop.
So Sebel decided to do something about it.
Working with Martogg, Australia’s largest privately owned recycling company, Sebel takes that waste, breaks it down into plastic chips and with their world-leading engineering facilities, moulds it back into their iconic Postura Max® chairs.
This is an important step for Sebel – and it’s one of many. As a business, they are determined to play their part in protecting the world for future generations and will continue exploring meaningful, effective ways to reduce our reliance on virgin plastic.
Recycled Postura Max® is a product that helps us contribute to the long-term fight against environmental damage . Students immediately reap the benefits of ergonomically designed and powerfully engineered chairs, and schools contribute to the constructive use of plastic waste, diverting it away from landfill. It’s a responsible choice, for all the right reasons.
